Maybelline Baby Lips Review

August 19, 2013

Now I know what you're all thinking 'not another Baby Lips review' but since they're release in the UK a few weeks ago it has taken me so long to get my hands on these and i'm super excited that I finally have, which I just had to share with you guys!
Top - Bottom: Peach Kiss, Cherry Me, Pink Punch
Maybelline Baby Lips - Boots (£2.99) each
Now I don't know about you guys but these things have been so hard to get my hands on. I've probably visited my local Boots store more in the past month than I have this past year, but they finally had these in stock over the weekend and when I saw they were on 3for2 offer I snapped up three there and then and headed straight to the tills! If you aren't aware the Maybelline Baby Lips release in the UK has been long awaited and so hyped up that they actually sold out online!

I picked up the shades 'Cherry Me', 'Peach Kiss' and 'Pink Punch' as these shades gave the most colour pay off, as I prefer lip balms that add a little sheer wash of colour. They glide on so smoothly and are actually really creamy, kind of like vaseline which I wasn't quite expecting but i'm pretty impressed. Now I wasn't expecting these things to be so pigmented, but they do give a really nice colour pay off with Cherry Me giving a reddish pink colour and Pink Punch giving off a pink whereas Peach Kiss gives a very light yet hardly noticeable peachy wash. These also have a really strong scent to them, with Cherry Me smelling of cherries, Peach Kiss smelling of peaches and Pink Punch smelling also quite fruity.

All in all i'm pretty impressed with these, they last a good few hours on the lips but not the 8 hours said on the packaging.. but what lip balm lasts that long?! I wouldn't say these are completely worth the huge hype, but having one of these in your collection can't harm as they are pretty nice lip balms.

Have you managed to get your hands on any of the Baby Lips?

  1. I got these a while back, before the UK release as my neighbour works as an air hostess and she brought these back and also an EOS balm, I completely agree about how pigmented and creamy they are. I think the hype is mainly about how pretty they are other than the actual product but I am a huge fan.

  2. I'm intrigued by these because we've never had them here, but then a part me is like they're just a lip balm. I'll probably still buy one to see for myself ha! x
