The Luxury Beauty Edit

October 02, 2014

Being a lover of all things affordable and budget friendly you can often wonder whether higher end products are really all that worth it, but there is a certain warm feeling you get when you treat yourself to a more pricier product.
Nars is a brand that gave me my first ever delve into the high end side of beauty, a delve that I have never regretted as it came in the form of the Nars Luster Blush (£21). I've raved time and time about this product but it will always be my favourite blusher of all time. The overall quality of these blushers is amazing, as I also have my trusty Nars One Night Palette to back me up here. The shade range available is just incredible and those names are ones that will stick with you. Also, that packaging.. there is something about the matte black packaging that excites me.

Another brand that has me swooning over it's packaging is YSL. The black and gold signature packaging just screams out luxury, and those lipsticks are so beautiful. Funnily enough the two products I own from YSL were bargains for me as the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick (£25) I purchased with my Boots points, and the YSL Shocking Eyeliner (£25) I found in TkMaxx. However that doesn't take away any of the brands quality. The lipstick is just beautful, the formula, the pigmentation, the lasting power.. everything is just amazing in my eyes. As for the eyeliner, it is probably the best felt tip eyeliner I have ever used. The nib is the perfect size to create the perfect winged eyeliner and the pigmentation is amazing.

The last products in this edit is from a brand I haven't really tried all that much of, but the two products that I do own have given me some very high expectations for the other products i'm wanting to try out. Laura Mercier is a brand that isn't so readily available where I live, but through my beauty subscription boxes they have made it possible to fall in love with a couple of products. The Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer (£29) is a firm primer favourite of mine, and probably one of the best that I have tried. It adds a lovely amount of radiance that makes the skin look awake and the lasting power that this gives to my base is unreal. Another product is the Laura Mercier  Long Lash Mascara (£19.50), which i've been using as my everyday mascara for as long as I can remeber. It does exactly what the name suggests, it gives the most amazing long fanned out lashes that make my eyes look so much more awake, without any clumping.
